The Westpac Life Saver Rescue Helicopter was deployed to locate and assist in the recovery of the walker, who was treated by local NSWA paramedics and Rural Fire Service personnel.
The helicopter departed Lismore for the 60-minute flight to South West Rocks. The flight and medical crews located the scene of the incident near an area of Trial Bay called ‘the gutter’.
The helicopter medical team winched in a paramedic and doctor and stabilised the patient further, preparing her for winch recovery to the helicopter.
The patient and medical teams were recovered safely and transported to Coffs Harbour Hospital. The patient remained in a stable condition throughout the 15-minute flight to Coffs Harbour.
