Thieves entered properties on Dulconghi Street, Allman Place, Crescent head Conference Centre and Crescent Head Holiday Park between January 15 and 22, stealing wallets, handbags and car keys.
Senior Constable Stephen Cherry said the majority of the thefts involved unsecured entry points.
“Five out of the six reported break-ins included unlocked doors,” Senior Constable Cherry said. “One involved a fly screen door being cut.”
Senior Constable Cherry said the break-ins often occurred when people were in ‘holiday mode’.
“There is a volume of crime every Christmas holiday period,” he said. “Crooks go up the the hill in Crescent Head where there is plenty of concealment. Most of the time they find some doors unlocked.”
