The three day clinic allowed Scott to pass on the information that saw him climb to the top of bull riding in the nation to 15 aspiring champions.
“New Caledonia is about 15 to 20 years behind Australia and the other top countries in bull riding and although they all had talent they were missing some of the basics,” Scott explained.
“To begin with we went through a lot of theory work and we started with the basics.”
“We started with the proper way to mount a bull, dismount, how to get themselves unstuck and the mental and physical preparations required to train and compete as an athlete.”
Scott said the program was a huge success and there was a massive impact on even the most experienced riders.
“The oldest person in the group was 35 and he had been riding for 17 years. He came up to me and said that he realised prior to learning from me, he had no idea what he was doing,” Scott said.
“The idea was to bring a whole heap of knowledge and improve the standard of riding in New Caledonia. I pass the information onto the group of 15 people and hopefully they will do the same with other bull riders in the country.
“Guys took a lot of information away and will work and continue to improve in those areas leading up to the next clinic I will host there.”
Scott says he will return to New Caledonia at a similar time next year to host another training program.
He has been holding clinics in Australia and New Zealand for close to a decade.
