The 12-year-old will compete at the NSW Country Championships held at SOPAC in Homebush, Sydney on Saturday and Sunday.
She is full of excitement and is proud to be accomplishing the goals she set in 2016 and has already made plans for the rest of the year.
Shae-ala already completed a goal after competing in the State Championships held in December 2016.
The swimmer will compete in three of her favourite events over the weekend, the 200m Individual Medley, 200m Backstroke and the 100m Backstroke.
Shae-ala began swimming for the Crescent Head Pointers Swimming Club at the age of three and her mother Renee Marchment said she immediately loved the sport.
“She has always enjoyed swimming but in the last couple of years she has begun to take it more serious and started setting goals,” Ms Marchment said.
The year 7 student trains up to seven times a week and balances high school at the same time.
“She has recently started high school and trains in the morning and after school,” Ms Marchment explained.
“I spoke with her teachers and they have all said she is balancing the two really well.”
