Huxley’s goal began perfectly as he earned the maximum amount of points on offer after finishing in first position in the opening round at the Raleigh International Raceway.
“I won’t settle for anything less than going back-to-back,” Huxley said.
“No one has ever defended their title and it would be an awesome achievement to be the first.”
The sport is judged on speed, angle and proximity. The track has clipping points on the track for the lead car to hit and the chase car has to get as close to the lead car to emulate them but without hitting or overtaking them.
The motor sport driver won his opening three qualifying rounds and was ranked first heading into the knockout stage.
After earning a bye for the first round, Huxley won in the top 16, top eight, top four and of course in the final to secure first position.
Huxley earned a bonus 10-points by winning the event and qualifying in first position for the knockout stage.
He will compete at the second round of the competition on the weekend of May 6 and 7.
