Sports Medicine Australia recognises that regular golf can offer a range of health benefits – improve stamina, cardiovascular fitness, burns calories, reduces stress and develops muscular endurance.
Conducted at Kempsey Golf Club the program will run at 10:30am each Wednesday from 3 May to 7 June inclusive.
The six week program (one hour per day, one day per week) is targeted at individuals aged 55 and over who want to learn to play golf or to simply improve their game.
The cost to participants is only $99 which includes all the equipment and instruction you need to enjoy the game of golf and includes morning tea, six one-hour golf lessons, equipment and green fees.
In the last two weeks participants will go out onto the golf course to play one or two holes with their professional instructor and some members of the club.
Additionally, participants who complete the program will receive special membership offers from the host club.
Office of Sport Development Officer Hamish Neal said it is a great opportunity to bring a friend and experience golf in a relaxed, social and safe environment.
“This is part of a state-wide program to be staged at 15 clubs from Ocean Shores on the state’s far north coast to Liverpool in Sydney’s west,” Mr Neal said.
Bookings close 26 April. Numbers are limited and interested people should book as soon as possible. For more information visit Golf NSW at: http://www.golfnsw.org/Seniors
