A Bureau of Meteorology minor flood warning remains current but the level at Kempsey is expected to peak shortly at about the minor flood level of 4.50m.

Roads affected by flooding:

Bellbrook, Toorooka, Temagog, Turners Flat and Sherwood Bridges are all closed and will remain closed overnight. The bridges are expected to have silt and debris on them when they emerge and should not be crossed until floodwater is clear of the deck and they have been cleared of debris.

Dungay Creek causeway is closed

Gladstone St, West Kempsey railway underpass is closed

Old Aerodrome Rd is closed

Euroka Rd is closed

Queen St, South Kempsey is open

There may be water over or adjacent to other roads – proceed with caution

River levels

Georges Creek – 4.95m at 3.00pm – peaked at 5.00m at 1.30pm

Bellbrook – 4.91m at 4.04pm – rising slightly

Toorooka – 5.42m at 4.12pm - falling

Turners Flat – 5.92m at 3.00pm – falling

Sherwood Bridge – 6.49m at 4.14pm – peaked at 1.30pm, now falling

Kempsey Traffic Bridge – 4.42m at 4.00pm – rising slowly, expected to peak at about 4.50m

Belmore River entrance – 1.60m at 4.03pm - rising

Flood gates on Kinchela Creek, Belmore River, Euroka Creek and Christmas Creek are closed

Flood relief gates at Kinchela Creek and Belmore River are closed. On current expected river levels the relief gates will not need to be opened.
