Crescent Head, Stuarts Point, Kempsey South and East, Frederickton and Telegraph Point primary school students in years 4, 5 and 6 joined in the tournament, making up seven competing teams.
According to teacher Leon Ruhl, who helped facilitate the event, the program aims to enhance students problem solving capabilities, enterprise, time management, and ability to work collaboratively within a competitive environment.
Students did this by partaking in a number of activities through the day, which included prop design and creation, drama workshops and script writing.
Mr Ruhl said the activities helped the students develop their spontaneous creative skills, as well as improving their problem solving abilities.
The final event of the day was a two-minute drama performance by each group.
Following their group performances at the end of the day, Kempsey East were announced the winners, while tournament honours went to South Kempsey.
The tournament was managed by Melville High Students who helped facilitate the workshops and activities throughout the day.
Melville High School made it to the finals of the tournament at the senior school version last year.
