The School of Education at the University of Wollongong are running a research project that seeks to promote knowledge about educational futures in early childhood.
The University would like to talk with parents, caregivers and family members to develop an education promotion strategy for early childhood.
The University will be holding 11 group interviews over three days.
The group interviews are to discuss if there is any impact by the direct experience of the “Lead My Learning” campaign.
The Lead my learning campaign began in 2014 and was designed to appeal to parents and caregivers with young children. The aim is to offer ideas for how to integrate encouraging and sharing learning into daily life and clever ways for parents and caregivers respond to a young child’s request to ‘lead my learning’.
Based on this information, the University hopes to have a better understanding if a social marketing campaign impacts parent’s beliefs and behaviours regarding their role in leading their children’s learning and education aspirations.
The Lead My Learning group research interviews will be held at:
- Monday April 10: Kempsey Shire Library (corner of Elbow and Tozer Streets) West Kempsey from 12.30pm-1.30pm, 2-3pm, 3.30-4.30pm.
- Tuesday April 11: Family Referral Service (51 Smith Street, Kempsey) from 10.30am-11.30am, 12.30pm-1.30pm, 2-3pm, 3.30-4.30pm.
