KEMPSEY Show postponed, let’s hope it’s not cancelled. Yes, we have had a lot of rain, but we need an all-weather showground regardless of the cost. It’s a facility that would justify a $10 million investment – not just a few thousand here and there.
We should encourage people to live here, to play their sports. Kempsey is the home of well bred horses.
We need the facilities to show-off their skills: cutting, camp drafting, as well as horse sales, bull riding and many other sports.
We have sat back far too long and watched this town deserted and raped, but it is a big call when lots of people like council employees, bankers, school teachers, nurses, doctors and car dealers earn their money here and choose to live in Port Macquarie.
I see the business chamber have voiced their support for the expansion of Kempsey Airport, the question was asked at the meeting “what financial gain does Kempsey get out of this? “
No one would answer. Well, chamber of commerce, back my plan and see how it goes.
We have Melinda Pavey in the winning team in parliament, let’s see what she can do for us as it won’t be long before another election. The palookas in Canberra would waste that $10 million in a couple months from parties drinks, travel and free meals.
I watched question time one wet day – what a bunch of pelican heads!
Come on, Kempsey, let’s all get together and make this town the way it used to be. Anything worth having is worth fighting for.
