“The whole club is excited to get on the field,” first grade coach Dennis Ritchie said.
“We have spent our pre-season training hard but we haven’t played a game so everyone just wants to get out there and get into it.”
Ritchie is hopeful his side will show a lot of discipline this weekend and believes the youth in the squad will shine.
“There are a few young boys coming up from the successful Under 18s side from last season and they have been training really well,” he said.
“Joseph Barba will start at hooker. He played a couple of first grade games last year but this will be his biggest test.
“He will hand it fine and a couple of old fellas will look after him.”
Ritchie expects the backline combinations to develop as the season progresses.
