First grade has a bye to begin the Mid North Coast Rugby Union competition and will have to wait another two weeks before their season gets underway.
“It is disappointing for the first grade boys to have to wait another two weeks to get on the field,” first grade coach Jared Fuller said.
“We have been training since January and only had the one pre-season match so they are all keen.”
The reserve grade side has a good mix of youth and experience.
“There are a few new faces and a couple of the older blokes are back for another run,” Fuller said.
“They will be in for a strong season.”
The match kicks off at 3pm with the juniors playing before them at their home field at Crescent Head.
Fuller is expecting the reserve grade side’s fitness levels to be high.
“We went pretty hard with fitness this pre-season and pushed them,” he said. “They will be ready to go hard on game day.”
“It is hard to replicate match intensity though and it will take a couple of games to get to 100 percent.”
The First grade side will kick off their season on the road in their round 2 clash against the Coffs Harbour Snappers on Saturday May 6.
