Thank you to Margaret Whalen (postcards, medals, badges and silk hankie display), Lloyd O'Dell (reading a summary of 1917), Leo Whalen (reading Horace Brenton's story, telling his father’s story and recalling a recent trip to Belgium with his sons and two grandchildren), Cheryl Sydenham (reading the poem, Flanders Fields) and Marie Hickson (reading The Ode) for their kind contributions.
And there was also a 40-year wedding anniversary. The union of Lloyd and Fay at Smithtown saw them become Mr And Mrs O'Dell. From this union one child, Lisa, was born, joining Fay's four children. Lloyd and Fay have spent much of heir lives in Gladstone and find peace and comfort in the love they share. Congratulations were offered and a cake cut with the company of the congregation for Fay and Lloyd's marital achievement.
