The final round of the 2017 Kempsey Golf Club Members Championships were held last Saturday at the Kempsey Golf Club with the 2016 Champion Rick Nicholson taking the honour's again in 2017 after a final round of 75 for a total of 227. Going into the final round Rick had a one shot lead over two players and at the end of day won the Championship by 4 shots from Brody Clarke who got the runner up prize on a countback from Ian Rudd. The 2017 'B' grade Champion is Chris Gorman with a total of 257 for his 3 rounds. Junior Bradley Dyet is the runner up to Gorman with a score of 263, while his score was also the best in the Junior Championship for 2017 after claiming the title in 2016. Mark Whitehead is the 'C' grade Champion for 2017 with a score of 272 from Andrew Wight on 293.

In the 18 hole single stroke event which was held last Saturday there was a good number of players in the field and there were visitors from Frederickton, SWR & Crescent Head.
Taking out the top grade on Saturday was James Benson from SWR with a net score of 68 while the runner up prize was awarded to Andrew Watts for his net 70. Benson also claimed the best gross score with a one under par score of 71.
In the 'B' grade on Saturday the winner of the net event was Ray Campbell with his 70 net from Todd Watts with a net score of 71 on a count back. Junior Bradley Dyet claimed the gross event with his fine round of 85.
Kevin Miller playing his game in the morning was the 'C' grade net winner with a score of 70 from Damon Green who was in the last group of the day and had a score of 72 net for his runner up spot. In the gross event it was Mark Whitehead continuing his good form to record a score of 94.
The winners of the Macleay Valley Vet Services ntp's at the 3rd hole were David Griffin 'A' Robert Johnson 'B', Wayne Simmons 'C' & Pam Bruce 'L'. At the 8th hole the winners were Brody Clarke 'A', Peter Callaghan 'B', Kevin Miller 'C'.
The 2017 Kempsey Carpet Court Open 18 hole Medley 4bbb Stableford and Individual event will be held at the Kempsey Golf Club Saturday with the first players hitting off at 7am. All players can book in now at the club or go online to book your spot for this big event. On the scoreboard roster tomorrow will be the week 5 team of Ross Leopold.
On Sunday April 23rd the Kempsey Golf Club Pennants team traveled to SWR for there round 2 matches and came home with a 4-1 victory over the seaside club. There next match will be on Sunday May 7th against Crescent Head. Well done to the team and keep the winners coming.
