The 2017 Kempsey Golf Club Junior Champion Bradley Dyet was the stand out player last Saturday in the 2017 Amcal Max 18 hole single Stableford event which saw a good field of 72 players hitting off from 7am on the day. To Greg and the team a big thank for your continued support of golf at the club. To all the volunteers who have been out on the course during the week working a big thank you goes to all.

The stand out player on the day was Bradley with his very impressive round of 45 points ( 5 over par ) to win the 'B' grade and now enter the top grade ranks in his next outing on Saturday. Bradley who was out in the first group of the day held of Adam Brett from Coffs Harbour who also found the course very good with his round of 44 points to be the runner up in 'B' grade.
In the 'C' grade on Saturday the scores were again very good with John Yabsley who was out early on Saturday to record his round of 43 points and claim the victory from Peter Herivel who was back with a score of 40 points as the runner up.
After joining the club a few months ago Hillary Dew the well known horse trainer in town finally claimed a victory but only after the judges went to the count back for the photo finish in the top grade. Dew who had a round of 41 points edged out the big hitting Andrew Watts who was out early with Yabsley for his round of 41 points.
At the Macleay Valley Vet Services ntp's on the 3rd hole the winners were Peter Hudson 'A', Zachary Pritchard 'B', Jack Tolman 'C'. At the club sponsored 8th hole winners were Ross Leopold 'A', Paul Stubbs'C' &Cassie Black 'L'. The K&J Meats 11th hole were awarded to Steve Pearson 'A', Ray Campbell 'B', Kale Waters 'C', & Gail Simon 'L'. The winners of the Cellarbrations 16th hole were Peter Hatton 'A', Bradley Dyet 'B', Kevin Miller 'C' & Pam Bruce 'L'.
In the weekly ball competition players with a score 37 points on count back received a ball and can be collected from the pro shop at the club.
All the players will be checking there handicaps this week after all the good scores before hitting off Saturday in the 2017 K & J Superior Meats 18 hole Single Stableford event. All members and visitors wishing to play can book in now on line or give the club a call to book a spot for your round. On the scoreboard roster tomorrow will be the week 3 team of Tony May, Trevor Hannah and Glen Coughran.
On the Sunday our pennant team will have a home game against the lower Macleay club SWR. After there last win against Crescent Head the side has secured top spot in the home and away games. The sides will hit off at 9am on Sunday at the Kempsey Golf club with the team expected to have a good hit out before entering the Semifinals on Sunday May 28th a place TBA. A reminder to all players that on Saturday May 27th is 2017 Bob Preston Memorial Day. The day is a Open 18 hole 4bbb Stableford and Individual event.
