CP Ball Butchery took out first place in the gourmet/open and best butchers beef burger categories in the Mid North Coast heat of the 2017 NSW Sausage King and Best Butchers Burger competition on May 25.
Ball’s Butchery took out the gourmet/open category with their Texan chilli, while they won the best butchers beef burger category with Grandma’s secret burger.
They’ll now go to Tamworth in September to compete and strive for a position in the national finals.
Grahame said it was “always good to mix with the best butchers from around NSW”.
The secret burger recipe came from Grahame and Geoffrey’s mother Pam, and is apparently an “old hand-me-down family recipe.”
As to what is in the secret recipe?
“Tell them to come in and try it,” he laughed.
