Saints Green side, coached by Amy O’Brien, is currently sitting on the top of the ladder and are undefeated while the Abigael Baker coached White team is in second place.
“I wasn’t too sure on how it would go. I knew both sides had great players but it is my first time in a coaching role so I am a bit surprised,” Saints Green coach O’Brien said.
“We definitely made the right decision.”
The depth of their players was always going to be tested but O’Brien said the players are developing quickly.
"We have a few new players in both teams and they are picking it up really well,” she said.
The two sides had dominant victories in round six of the competition on Saturday with the Green side winning 6-0 against the Yowies while the White side defeated Port FC 10-1.
Both teams continue to train together and O’Brien is hopeful the success continues.
“It would be great to see an all Saints grand final, that is the goal for both sides for the remainder of the season.”
They are on the road this Saturday with Saints White facing the Yowies while Saints Green are against the Waratahs.
