The Macleay District Motor Cycle Club were forced to make the call to cancel the Akubra Classic due to the weather conditions on Saturday, but the club will be hosting the event again this weekend.

“Unfortunately the weather hasn’t been in our favour for the last couple of Akubra Classic’s and on the weekend we were left with no choice but to cancel it,” Macleay District Motor Cycle Club president Jamie Oram said.
“The event will run this weekend and we are still ready to go.”
The Akubra Classic was post-poned in March this year due to the weather and Oram is hoping for sunny conditions.
“The current forecast suggests we won’t have any drama but I have learned not to count my chickens before they hatch,” Oram said.
The racing will commence on Saturday morning with competitors from as young as four participating.
There will be more junior events held this year with races for Pee Wees up to the under-15s.
Cost of entry is $10 each for an adult while children under the age of 12 can attend for free with a full canteen available.
Two Australian champions will be on display with Luke Richards and Marty McNamara competing in the senior events.
The NSW Dirt Track titles will be held at the Greenhill Speedway at the end of the year.
