The money was raised at the recent annual charity golf day held at the Kempsey Golf Club.
MVVS co-owner Mitch Edwards said the charity day is to help raise money for community groups.
“They do great work and it is for a great cause,” Mr Edwards said of the Riding for the Disabled.
“It is good to be able to help out the community.”
There were 106 competitors on the day with the entry fee, along with donations from local businesses, helping to raise the funds with a part of the money going to the Riding for the Disabled.
The not-for-profit organisation plans to use the money to build a new feeding bay for the horses, equipment and ongoing vet bills.
There is currently six horses available and 31 riders from the Macleay who use the facilities.
“They all love riding the horses and it gives them a sense of freedom,” president of the Riding for the Disabled in the Macleay Valley Marie Purkis said.
“They gain a lot of confidence, it boosts their self-esteem and being a part of the club develops their social skills.”
Ms Purkis said the 20 volunteers with the group were great but she also gives a special thanks to the Kempsey High School agriculture students who help with the program each week.
“They are all a lot younger than us so they come down with a lot of energy and give us a hand,” she said.
“They are agriculture students so they have an interest in the area and they can put it on their resumes.”
The Riding for the Disabled have the primary objective to provide an opportunity to people with a disability to ride and enjoy all the activities connected with horse riding.
