With the rain gone during the week the course did dry out for golf last Saturday at the Kempsey Golf Club for the staging of the 2017 John Daley Open 18 hole Medley 4bbb Stableford and Individual event and the Qualifying round for the 2017 4ball KO competition. With the day just right there were visitors from SWR, Frederickton, Port Macquarie, Wentworth, Nambucca Heads & Massey Park golf clubs in the field which was again very good. Again a big thank you goes to John for his continued support of golf at the club and the volunteers during the week for getting the course in tip top condition for the event.

With the top 8 pairs ( which put yes on there cards ) Qualifying for the 4b KO the scores were again very good on the day. So at the end of the day the draw for the KO was done and has been put up on display at the pro shop for the players to organise there first round matches which have to be completed by Saturday July 22nd.
After hitting off at around 10.30am the winners of the day's event was the pairing of Peter Hatton and Murray Addison with a very good score of 49 points to be 2 points clear of there nearest rivals. After only getting home from an overseas trip on Saturday morning Bryn Davies was back to his golf at 12.30pm along with his partner Graeme Dyet who combined very well for the runner up spot with their round of 47 points in the last group of day on Saturday.
Taking out the best Individual score on the day was Murray Addison with his round of 41 points which was 2 better then Davies score of 39.
The winners of the ntp's at the 3rd hole for the Macleay Valley Vet Services voucher were Ray Emery 'A', Addison 'B', Leo Smith 'C', Barbara Richardson ' L'. At the club sponsored 8th hole the winners were James Benson 'A', Pam Bruce 'L'. The winners of K&J Meats 11th hole were Peter Hatton 'A', Lauren Watts 'L'. At the 16th hole the winners of the Cellarbrations ntp's were Chris Hudson 'B', Deniece Dyet 'L'.
With Saturday being the first Saturday of the month and July the Members and Visitors will play in the 2017 KHBC 18 hole Single Stroke event for the Monthly Medals in each grade and for the 2017 Winter Cup for the best net score on the day over the field. All players can book in now at the club or go online to book in for your round. Tomorrow on the scoreboard roster will be the week 1 team of Bryn Davies , Bradley Dyet and Graeme Dyet. All players tomorrow are asked to please carry a bucket and repair all divots and repair any plug marks on the greens so our course remains in the best condition for the up coming big events at the club.
A Reminder to all players that if you have any credit or balls in the pro shop you are asked to collect them before the end of July so check with Mike in the pro shop before hitting off Tomorrow.
