Three-time cancer survivor Chad Walkaden is the founder of Chad Walkaden Counselling and Consulting and two specialist cancer coaching programs – the Cancer Blueprint and Beyond the Blueprint.

The Cancer Blueprint is a five-week program designed for people recently diagnosed or receiving some form of cancer treatment while the Beyond the Blueprint is a four-week program that targets the vulnerabilities, stressors and changes that may continue to occur after treatment is finished.

Mr Walkaden says while treatment has been a huge part of his cancer journey so too has been managing the emotional effects of the disease.

“This dual focus towards approaching cancer is really about improving quality of life for individuals, carers and family members,” Mr Walkaden said.

“In our programs, we look at the secondary factors of cancer. That is, how cancer affects your relationships, your mental and physical health, finances, career and issues with fertility.

“Although the program looks at the emotional and physiological factors that may be associated with your circumstance, it also has a coaching element which we have found is essential to helping people move beyond their current circumstances.”

Chad has also collaborated with associate professor Ian Kerridge from the University of Sydney in the development of educational-therapeutic programs for people with cancer and also partners with Redkite, an Australian Cancer Charity to operate group programs across Australia.
