A strong performance was exactly what the nine member team delivered but Taree was able to prevail at the end of the day by a one rubber margin.
Kempsey took out the singles match ups 14-13 but the doubles went Taree’s way 4–2 resulting in the 17-16 victory to the hosts.
It was tough for the team to lose by such a small margin but the experience of a close tie can only benefit the team for their future matches.
The Kempsey macleay RSL Table Tennis Club is now preparing for its tussle with Wauchope on home turf at the end of July.
It is expected to be another close match up between the two clubs.
