Kempsey Macleay Greyhound Racing Club’s president Vicki Byrnes is hopeful the club has received security surrounding its future after being granted 15 race meetings for the next 12 months.

The first of the 15 race meetings will be held this Saturday July 29.
There were rumours greyhound race tracks across NSW would be shut down and Kempsey’s was held in those discussions.
“We hope all the negative publicity is behind us and we can continue on with business,” Byrnes said.
Saturday’s event will have 11 races with the meet scheduled to begin at 1pm and proceedings to finish at around 4.30pm.
It won’t be a TAB event but punters will be able to bet with the local bookmakers on site and also with totes.
Entry fee costs $7 for adults, $4 for pensioners and children under 16 are free.
The track is planning to hold a meet every three weeks for the next 12 months.
“It is a good day out for the locals and a great social day,” Byrnes said.
