Secretary Andrew Trappel has applied for grants over the past two years.
“I have attempted to receive a large amount of grants and was extremely happy after hearing the latest one was successful,” Trappel said.
The club has grown in the last two years with participants increasing from 80 kids to 180 last season
Trappel is hopeful they will crack the 200 competitor mark for the upcoming season.
The club will use the funds to purchase new high jump mats, scissor mats, javelin, shot puts, discus and other athletics equipment.
The last registration day will be held on Friday August 11 and you can attend Services Park in Kempsey to sign up.
The first competition day will be held on August 25 and all the participants are looking forward to competing.
