The 19-year-old, who trains at Hudson’s Gym, lost his first amateur bout in a split decision.
His trainer Gordon Lennon was surprised by the result believing he had won two out of the three rounds.
“He was a bit slow out of the blocks and he landed awkwardly on his ankle in the first round,” Lennon said.
“He regrouped though and I think he won the second and third round.”
Leroy’s fight with Port Macquarie boxer Matt Bruce was elected the fight of the night.

Lennon said the night was a massive success.
“There were hundreds of people in attendance and they all enjoyed the 12 fights,” Lennon said.
“There was a lot of talent on display and it would be great to host another event at the venue soon.”
