The Magpies recently snapped a four game losing streak and have earned victories the last two weeks.
The side is sitting in third position and a win in either of their final two regular season games would lock up third place.
A top three spot provides the Magpies with a second chance in the semi-finals.
Bo Wilson was a standout in the Magpies’ latest 56-24 victory over the Port and Lake Cathie Boardriders as he crossed for a equal club record of five tries for the second time in the past two seasons.
Magpies co-coach Zac McKiernan is expecting another tough game against the Marlins, who gave them a scare earlier in the season.
“It is always a grudge match when we came up against them, we want bragging rights for the region so it will be a good game,” McKiernan said.
“Securing third position is a must for us to get the extra shot in the finals so we will be giving it our everything on Saturday.”
The Magpies opened the scoring against the Boardriders last Saturday but were forced to hold on after their opponents dominated the majority of the possession for the opening 15-minutes.
However, once the Magpies showed discipline and stopped making errors, they were able to run away with the contest.
The game kicks off in Smithtown on Saturday at 2.30pm.
