The side played on the Sydney Cricket Ground on Monday August 14 against the best school sides in the state.
The students advanced to the semi-final with wins in their pool against Bermagui Public School 30-8, Marist College 34-19 but they lost to Knox Grammar 27-16.
Kempsey, who finished second in their pool, faced Albury Public School in the semi-final.
They trailed by 13 points in the second half but Kempsey rallied to level the scores at 31 at full-time.
It sent the match into extra-time and Kempsey continued their momentum to win 49-38.
Kempsey met Knox Grammar for the second time in the final but injuries and a long day took their toll on the side as they lost 50-12.
“The school is so proud of their achievement, a special thanks to Kevin and Rhonda from the Macleay Valley Eagles for their kind donations and the parents of our school who gave money for fundraising to allow us to compete in Sydney,” Gary Maxwell said.
The school advanced to the state finals after winning the North Coast Championship in May and another dominant display at the tournament held at Coffs Harbour in mid June.
