The Kempsey Under 16 boys will head into the finals weekend in fourth position and they will face off with Yamba in the opening round of the competition.
Kempsey were able to beat Yamba in their first meeting this season but when they met later in the year they came out on the losing side.
Coach Ev Jacobs said the side will need to be focused to win as Yamba have improved throughout the competition.
Meanwhile the Monday night basketball competition continues at the Melville High School’s Hall and the competition is in need of support.
Kempsey Basketball are looking for an adult who would like to help out with the running of the basketball competition.
We recently lost one of our reliable parents, Bob Pearce, who helped us with the running of Monday night basketball.
Unfortunately, our second helper will be out of action for a few months leaving only Dave Jacobs to run Monday nights.
We need a volunteer who could come in at 4pm and keep an eye on the high school kids.
Until Dave is free from school duties.
Ring Ev Jacobs on 041846 3278 if are interested in helping out.
