The fire, which had burned through 20ha of area not far from the Kempsey Adventist School is now under control.
Meanwhile, authorities are still working to contain the bush fire at Parrabel Creek, Moparrabah, 38km west of Kempsey.
This fire has now burnt through 2621ha of bush land.
Rural Fire Service (RFS) spokesman Lachlan Ison said ground crews and aerial support were trying to tie up the fire in extremely remote and rugged terrain near Toorumbee.
There are a number of other small bush fires across the region, which are all under control and being monitored.
