Book Week aims to engage the children with literature and encourages them to be enthusiastic about reading, ultimately, nurturing a literate, educated and creative society.
Teacher Melinda Evans said the book character parade is one of the highlights of the year.
“It’s lovely seeing the children, parents and community all come together to celebrate books,” Mrs Evans said.
“The children love getting dressed up and the teachers too!
“It really is a fun and engaging was to instil a love of reading.”
