A number of emergency service agencies will be operating in and about the Kempsey Airport between 8am and 3pm on Saturday.
All local emergency response agencies including NSW Police Force, Fire & Rescue NSW, NSW State Emergency Service, NSW Rural Fire Service, NSW Ambulance, NSW Health, Kempsey Shire Council, Corrective Services, and a private aviation college will take part in the field exercise.
In the lead up to, and during the exercise, there will be an increase of emergency services activity and traffic in the area of the airport.
The airport will remain open for general aviation operations during the conduct of the exercise.
Emergency services agencies regularly conduct training as part of ongoing review and testing of joint agency emergency response.
Local residents should not be alarmed or worried if they see a number of emergency services personnel in the area throughout the duration of the exercise and are urged not to contact 000 unless they require services for a genuine emergency.
Emergency Service agencies would like to thank the community for their understanding and patience should they be inconvenienced on the day.
