A young man in his early 20s was driving a motorbike in the Kempsey area when he reportedly crashed into a tree last Friday.

He was found unconscious at the scene.
An ambulance transported the young man to a Tamworth Westpac Rescue Helicopter which flew the patient to John Hunter Hospital, near Newcastle, for further treatment.
The young man sustained head injuries and is currently in a ‘critical condition’, the hospital told the Argus.
In 2016 there were 12,131 serious injuries as a result of vehicle crashes on NSW roads.
So far, in 2017, there have been 261 deaths as a result of road accidents in NSW and 63 motorcycle fatalities, according to data from the NSW Centre for Road Safety.
