Secretary manager of Wauchope Jockey Club Debbie Prosser thanked Kempsey Racecourse for providing the venue.
“It’s a beautiful day,” she said.
“The track is brilliant, Kempsey Racecourse have done a good job preparing it.”
Mrs Prosser said the event, which has been held at Kempsey for the last two years, was run primarily for television audiences and a huge crowd was not expected.
That being said, those in attendance basked in the sunshine and enjoyed some quality racing.
Jockey Chloe Baker, who is based at Taree, was excited to be racing and liked her chances on a firm track.
“It’s a great day,” she said.
“The track is firm but it’s good.
“It means that some won’t handle it.
“They won’t like the hard ground but my horse won't mind it.”
Spectator 31-year-old Josh Desmond said he was looking forward to having a punt but lacked any real strategy.
“I will have to have a look at the form guide,” he said.
“It’s a good day for a beer.
“Most people are at work, but they race every day these days.
“My wife is a jockey, she’s racing today.”
