It will be held in the main ring of the showground on Friday 15 th September commencing at 1pm and then under lights.
Prize money kindly sponsored by MVT (Macleay Valley Transport) Dressage competition is about showing off the skill of the rider to perform a number of designated movements in an arena to show the horse’s obedience, flexibility and balance. Whilst Dressage is a sport in itself, Dressage (a French word for training) can be used to develop the horse’s ability to allow better performances in other equestrian disciplines as well.
Next weekend’s competition has a number of levels ranging from an introductory walk and trot only test to Elementary level where the horse performs more difficult movements. Events are open to junior and senior riders. Entries close on Monday September 11 and forms can be emailed and paid online.
It is a great sport to be involved in and further information about entering can be found on the VEC‘s (Valley Equestrian Club-Kempsey) website; valleyequestrianclub.net and their Facebook page or the Kempsey Show Society’s website.
Valley Equestrian Club is an active club in Kempsey and holds social and competition events regularly.
