Kicking off this weekend on September 16 and 17, this year’s show is all about engaging the local young people.

“We really want to engage the local youth community,” show vice president Christopher Anderson said.

“Whilst it’s important for the show to keep its best and greatest, it’s also crucial that we engage the young members of our community to add to the heart of the show and keep it alive,” he said.

The show will kick-start with a dressage competition this Friday afternoon.

Saturday will see led horse classes in the main arena commencing at 8:00am while there will also be show jumping throughout the day.

One of the highlights will be the freestyle motocross bike displays as well as the full range of carnival rides to please young and old.

A Ute muster will see judging commence at 11am on Saturday with categories including the Chicks Ute, Feral Ute, B&S Ute, Work Ute and more.

Local school children will open their cattle competition on Sunday morning commencing with the weigh-in at 8.30 am followed by the judging of their cattle up until lunch time in Ring 1.

A young farmers competition has been introduced, which will take place on Sunday afternoon and this will qualify competitors to compete at next year's Sydney Royal Show.

The show committee has also reintroduced wood chopping on Sunday and camp drafting on Saturday afternoon.

A dog jumping competition, which is open to everyone, will take place on Sunday afternoon so bring your dog and have a go.

In accordance with tradition, the final event of the show will be the ever-popular demolition derby.

This year the show, which has usually been held in March/April was postponed because of wet weather.
