Brown stepped up his training four months ago with his aspirations of becoming a professional boxer increasing after he grew fed up with opponents backing out of scheduled amateur bouts against him.
The 26-year-old, who won five of his six fights as an amateur, will dedicate his life to achieving his goal.
“I would love to be a heavy weight champion one day,” Brown told the Argus.
“That’s my best dream and goal in life, I will continue to strive towards it and give it everything."
Brown was tired of preparing for fights, only to be left with another disappointment.
"I’ve had more people withdraw from fights against me than I have had fights in the ring,” Brown said.
“It was frustrating to put in hours of training, work hard to get into shape for a fight and then be told the person has pulled out.
“Hopefully I avoid that by becoming a professional boxer.”
Brown’s motivation can’t be questioned, as the hard worker dropped from 112kg to 102kg since deciding to become a professional.
Brown returned to boxing training after watching professional bouts and believing he was a level above.
“I was watching boxing, the best go at it, and I just wanted to be in there,” Brown said.
“It gave me a boost because I knew I could do better than that.”
Brown was training in Kempsey but has relocated for the time-being to Newcastle to live with family members.
“I love training in Kempsey, it will always be my home,” Brown said.
“But the correct move for me at the moment was to go to Newcastle and get the best available training for me.”
Brown is thankful for his sponsor Kempsey Toyota for supporting him in pursing his dream.
He is being mentored by a close family member and is hopeful of making his debut early next year.
