Various NSW emergency service organisations participated in the training exercise named ‘Juggernaut’.
Exercise ‘Juggernaut’ involved a mock collision between two aircraft, one plane belonging to the Australian Aviation College, the other plane carrying six people including a high risk inmate and four Corrective Services Officers.
The exercise included hazmat situations involving carbon fibre and aviation fuel.
A pilot was also ‘missing’ from one of the planes, which required an emergency search to be carried out.
Agencies that participated included: NSW Rural Fire Service , Fire and Rescue NSW, NSW Ambulance , Corrective Services from Kempsey Prison, Australian International Aviation College, Kempsey Shire Council, NSW Police Force and NSW State Emergency Service.
