This month’s competition of the Seabreeze Beach Hotel Fishing Club was held over the weekend of September 30 and October 1. Conditions were generally good for fishing with 89 nominations and 95.5 kg of fish presented to the Weigh Master.
Despite the better than usual conditions many anglers found there was plenty of water between the fish.
Sandra Wantuch won the ladies Bream with a 1.035 kg fish. Sandra also had a “what the” moment with another hook up turning out to be a 2.345 kg Kingfish, not overly common in the river.
“Tenunda” entrant, Finn McLean, was glad he got mum and dad out of bed to go fishing, picking up the Bream, 405 gm., Dart, 250 gm and Junior Angler of the Month with 2 species.
Kurt Farrell and Isabella Laws taking out a Bream prize each.
Others to take out prizes in the inside section were James Ryan, Bream, 630 gm; Bub Lyttle, Dusky Flathead, 2 kg; Cheryl Barber, Dusky Flathead, 685 gm and Pat Halverson, Angler of the Month with 5 species.
Col Barber won with a couple of nice fish, taking out the Snapper, 3.160kg and Pearl Perch, 1.595 kg, while Jamie Box claimed the Kingfish with a 6.990 kg specimen.
Jai Willis was named Angler of the Month with 4 species. Junior angler, Jayden Allen will be sure to have the alarm clock set and be lining up for a “deckies” spot next month after his results in the junior section of this competition. Jayden had the biggest Snapper, 615 gm, Morwong, 820 gm and was Junior Angler of the Month with 2 species.
Next competition will be November 4 and 5. All are welcome.
