The weather proved to be the winner last Saturday for the staging of the 2017 Peter Steffensen 18 hole single Stableford event which saw players from all over the Macleay take part on the day. Peter who has been a long time member and sponsor of this event was thanked on the day by all the players and the club.

With the morning conditions proving very good, the best score on the day was recorded by the first player out on the day. Taking out the 'A' grade with a very good score of 42 points was Brody Clarke who won with his one over par round. Brody's round included a 3 under par round on the first nine and then leaking a few shots on the way home. With a score of 40 points Peter Livermore who also,played in the morning was runner up to Clarke.
After some good scores recently and not quite making the winners circle Bret Baldwin this week won the 'B' grade with a very good score of 41 points. Peter Hudson who had a round of 40 points was the runner up on a count back in the 'B' grade.
Club officials had to decide the winner of the 'C' grade on Saturday after two players had returned scores of 37 points at the end of the day. Getting the nod was John Harrison who beat the veteran David Tolman on the day.
With so many good scores on the day all,players will be checking there handicaps before hitting off this week, and all winners of unclaimed vouchers or prizes can be collected from the pro shop.
The winners of the Macleay Valley Vet Services ntp's at the 3rd hole were Chris Kerr 'A', Martin Johnston 'B', Graeme Irving 'C' & Ariane Brose 'L'. Winners of the club voucher at the 8th hole were Brody Clarke 'A', Johnston 'B' & Brose 'L'. The K&J Meats winners at the 11th hole were David Griffin 'A', Peter Hudson 'B', Roger McAlister 'C' & Nancy McNamara 'L'. David Griffin 'A', Johnston 'B' & Gail Simon 'L' were the winners at the Celebrations 16th hole on Saturday.
Tomorrow at the club members and visitors will play in the 2017 Rod Kinnear 18 hole Single Stableford event with the first players hitting off from 7am on the 1st tee. All intending players can book in now at the club or go online to book in for your round. A reminder to all players that the practice ground will again be closed tomorrow due to cricket being held on the oval.
The final round of the 2017 Harry Richardson Pennants will be held on Saturday November 25th at the SWR club. Place your name on the sheet at the club to play.
