Rovers’ win came on the back off strong batting performances from Ben Dowling (59) and Brett Williams (54).
Harrison Nemme was the main contributor with the ball in his hand for Rovers.
Nemme picked up two wickets off his seven overs and only allowed one run.
Frederickton had only two players reach double figures with the bat.
Jamie Cooper (56) and Josh Rolfe (23) were the two batsman to keep Frederickton in the contest.
Rovers head into day-two this Saturday with the 29-run lead and in search of an outright victory.
Meanwhile the Stuarts Point/Eungai and South West Rocks encounter will continue on Saturday.
