Kempsey-Crescent Head won the Club Championship points on both days.
Surf Boat captain Scott Edwards said it was another building day for the club, who are still missing a number of key rowers.
“It was another great club weekend, it was challenging surf and quite big and choppy on the Saturday,” Edwards said.
“Our best performed crews were the U/19 mini muppets who won their division, the Junior Clydesdales came in second position in their division and the over 200s grabbed a second and first.
“We still have rowers doubling up in crews with a few people away which makes it hard but we should be at full strength at the next round so we will see how we go.”
Meanwhile the South West Rocks’ Masters men rowed in honour of Kerry Fisher, a dedicated club person who passed away earlier this month.
The crew overcame the difficult conditions on Saturday to finish in first place while the weather and alley draws on the Sunday saw them finish in second position.
The crew are pleased with their start to the season and are looking forward to developing their skills, fitness and technique in the upcoming carnivals.
Both clubs are viewing the North Coast Surf Boat Series carnivals as preparation for the major carnivals of the 2017-2018 season.
