A big thank you to the Kempsey Race Club for all your hard work in organising another top race day. It was also great to see Akubra continue its proud tradition over four decades in sponsoring the Kempsey Cup. Well done to all the ladies and gents who got into the spirit of the day and entered the Fashions on the Field, and thank you to the local businesses who added to the excitement by donating great prizes to the winners.

Topping off a fabulous day out was having a successful flutter on the winner! I hope you all had similar success in backing a winner on the day, but more importantly, enjoyed the chance to catch up with friends at one of Kempsey’s best community events.

Joining the annual community Christmas celebration at Riverside Park on December 2 is a wonderful way to celebrate all that is good in our community.

Explore the Twilight Markets and stay on to enjoy the Christmas Carols and stunning fireworks display, which will be launched from the river. Our Riverside Park setting and lots of entertainment in store will keep our kids and grandkids entertained, including Santa arriving by boat on to the new wharf.

Thank you to the Macleay Valley Business Chamber, with the continued support of the Kempsey District Silver Band, for organising this wonderful annual community event.

Continuing the river theme, this New Year’s Eve celebration will also be magic on the water with a superb fireworks display hosted by the Kempsey-Macleay RSL Club, with support from Council.
