Frederickton defeat Nulla in first grade cricket

Frederickton took on Nulla in a tight one-day encounter on Saturday afternoon and Argus’ photographer Penny Tamblyn was there to capture some of the action.

Both teams were determined to perform well, with Frederickton seeking their maiden win of the season and Nulla hoping to consolidate its position near the top of the ladder.

The match, played at Frederickton, was a nail-biter, with the winner undecided until the final over.

Nulla won the toss and elected to bat, amassing 7-242 from their 35 over dig.

A Stutz (103) and H Mainey (50) scored the bulk of Nulla’s runs.

MJ Ennis (3-32) was the best of Frederickton’s bowlers.

In the end, the home side prevailed, chasing down the Nulla total to be 4/245 with five balls to spare. 

J Cooper (80no) and S Crouch (50no) played the key innings for Frederickton.

Nulla’s O Hackenberg finished with figures of 2-23 from 7 overs.
