Craig Milburn will take on the role of general manager at Kempsey Shire Council following the departure from his current role as the director of finance, corporate and community services at Shoalhaven City Council.
In a statement on Friday, Mr Milburn said he will be exiting his role at Shoalhaven council on February 1 2018.
“I am looking forward to this new challenge and new role. There are several changes occurring at Kempsey Council and I am looking forward to leading the organisation through this change," he said.
Mr Milburn will replace former Kempsey Shire Council general manager David Rawlings who resigned back in July. Council’s director corporate management Daryl Hagger has been acting general manager since then.
Including his role at Shoalhaven Council, Mr Milburn has also held executive roles at Port Macquarie-Hastings Council and Coffs Harbour Council.
In his position at Shoalhaven Council, which he served in for four years, Mr Milburn oversaw the management of a number of areas including finance, organisational development, customer services, Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre, Shoalhaven Swim and Fitness, beach patrols, library services, family day care, community and cultural development.
Before his role at Shoalhaven Council, Mr Milburn served as the director of corporate business at Coffs Harbour City Council for five years before-which he was the director of community development at Port Macquarie Hasting Council for three years, according to his LinkedIn profile.
“I have really enjoyed my time at Shoalhaven City Council, it has been an exciting challenge, with a range of diverse work and interesting projects,” Mr Milburn said.
“I am also looking forward to moving closer to my family who live in Port Macquarie,” he said.
