The 2018 Kempsey Golf Club Pennants Team is on a winning streak with another victory last Sunday at Bowraville, which has taken the team to four wins from there four matches so far this year. With just 2 rounds to go before the semi’s the side is in a good position to secure a spot in the semifinals. The victory Sunday was a 3/2 win against a strong Bowraville side on there home track. The side will this Sunday Travel to Coffs Harbour for there next match and after defeating the Coffs side in round 2 the home side will be out for revenge. The teams will hit off from 9.30am. The last round of the home and away games will see the Kempsey team Travel to Crescent Head on Sunday May 20th. Good luck to all players on Sunday and let’s hope the defending champions from 2017 can go all the way in 2018.

At the club last Saturday and with only a small field hitting off in the 2018 Wright’s Accounting 18 hole Single Stableford event the day was marred by drizzling rain in the morning and then windy conditions in the afternoon. With only a small field the winner of the day in the Stableford event was Grahame Martin with a score of 39 points. Taking out the runner up spot was Michael Fyffe with his score of 38 points on a count back from the 3rd place getter Mike Brady also with 38 points.
In the field on the day were visitors from SWR & Crescent Head. The weekly Junior winner was Kai Dunbar-Rudd.
The winners of the Macleay Valley Vet Services ntp’s at the 3rd hole were Mike Brady ‘A’, Ashley Elford ‘B’, Michael Fyffe ‘C’. At the hole the winners were Rick Nicholson ‘A’ & Elford in ‘B’. The K & J Meats winners at the 11th hole were Paul Hollis ‘A’, Max Gleeson ‘B’, Kevin Miller ‘C’. At the Celebrations 16th hole the winners were Grahame Martin ‘A’, Bret Baldwin ‘B’, Pam Bruce ‘L’. All winners of vouchers and balls from the Saturday event can be collected from the pro shop in the club anytime.
With tomorrow being the first Saturday of the month the Members and visitors will be playing in the Coastline Credit Union 18 hole Single Stroke event for the monthly medals in each grade. With the course in tip top condition the day should be very good for all players, and all intending players can book in now at the club or go online to book in for your round. Don’t forget the weekly open 18 hole Medley Single Stableford event is held every Thursday with a walk up start from 7am. For more info about any upcoming event at the club just ring the club now.
