Ms Dunn has taken on a teaching role at the Tanya Pearson Classical Coaching Academy and Sydney City Youth Ballet since her retirement from the stage in 2014.

She is the artistic director of the company’s new production, Triple Bill, which was showcased at the Glasshouse in Port Macquarie last night.

Today, local students were given the amazing opportunity to have a one hour class with Ms Dunn at Danae Cantwell School of Dance.

“The students have been very receptive to the lessons, they’ve been lovely. It’s great to be able to implement what classical ballet is,” Ms Dunn said.

“Being able to bring our classes to students who can’t attend our summer schools or can’t make it to Sydney can really further them in their training and open doors for them.”

The Sydney City Youth Ballet also visited the studio today to conduct their class, with one of the students having grown up in Kempsey.

Lucinda Worthing-Shore left Kempsey at age 13 to pursue her training and career in Sydney and she said being able to perform for her home town last night was a highlight.

“It was amazing. I never thought I would be preforming in front of my home town and having all of my family watch me perform with such a big company,” she said.

The crowd in the Glasshouse last night cheered whenever Lucinda appeared on stage.

“That was so overwhelming. I was shocked, it was so nice.”

Ms Dunn said bringing the company on the road allows them to further their experience.

“Having to go straight from travelling to rehearsals and then performing shows them what company life is like,” she said.

Danae Cantwell said it was an amazing opportunity for the local students today to have this experience.

“It’s wonderful that everyone has embraced this. I never thought we’d have Lucinda Dunn here in our studio, the students are just in awe,” she said.
