Your new company
This government organisation is seeking a Compliance Manager to lead a team in the Mackay Region to enforcing development related legislation and providing advice on building/land use and development matters

Your new role
Your duties will include;

  • Mentoring and training to the Compliance team
  • Make recommendations and decisions based on sound risk assessment
  • Provide input into strategic and operational processes, including but not limited to workforce planning, business cases, business and operational plans.
  • Performance manage to specific timeframes, set goals and targets
  • Communicate concepts to customers and build relationships with industry stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance including liaison with offenders, follow up inspections, correspondence, service of notices, obtaining supporting technical and legal advice
  • Receive and assess licence and permit applications under local laws and conduct audits of activities to ensure compliance.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you will need.

  • Experience in leading and managing multidisciplinary teams
  • Qualification (Cert IV and above) in Business Management
  • Develop a positive culture
  • C Class Open Australian Drivers Licence
  • Experience in compliance and educational work investigations into breaches of State legislation and local laws
  • High level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites
  • Experience in developing and implementing policies and procedures to meet corporate goals
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build rapport and effective working relationships.
