Reporting to the MD, you will play in important role in the on-going development of the Finance department. Your primary responsibilities are to manage a small team and help establish best practice finance procedures, whilst also enabling the organisation to grow into it's new multinational status. You will be responsible for the production of all financial reporting activities across the Australian group of companies and divisions, responsible for the production and submission of all tax and statutory reporting requirements for the Australian entities, as well as the management of an experienced and reliable Accountant.
Your role also includes the completion of month-end reporting, GST, PAYG and Superannuation reporting, through to the completion of management and board packs with commentary for analysis.
This is a broad role that requires hands on work initially, but with the added layer of strategic support for the MD. Initially this is a big workload, but for an experienced candidate who enjoys autonomy, this will be both challenging and fulfilling.
The Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate will be CA/CPA qualified and have previous experience in Finance leadership roles in fast growing business or transformative working environments. You will need strong technical accounting skills, as well as a strong focus on stakeholder management and business partnering to ensure you provide support for Department Heads and members of the Leadership Team, including the MD. A supportive approach to staff management is required and a collaborative style when working with other departments is expected. Strong communication skills and a continuous improvement mindset are mandatory to be successfully in this role.
