Based in the tropical Far North QLD (FNQ) town of Mossman (just north of the renowned holiday getaway Port Douglas), Douglas Shire Council are seeking an ICT Support Officer on a two-year fixed term contract to work within their IT Team.
Your new role
This new role reports directly into the organisations IT Manager who leads the specially created (and multi-disciplinary) IT department whose aim is to design, build, run and maintain all related IT systems and infrastructure throughout the council.
Joining a team of four, as the ICT Support Officer the day-to-day actives of this role will see you work alongside others to provide onsite (and remote from the back office) helpdesk support for the staff (circa 120 desktop users plus 60 who are mobile only) throughout the Douglas Shire region. This support will cover a range of level 1, 2 and 3 issues (password resets, network hardware issues, system roll outs etc) whilst having the ability to escalate issues to external providers as and when needed.
Whilst conducting IT support, this position plays a key part in the running of the organisations IT department by allowing other members of the team to move their focus to project and strategic work.

For your commitment to this two-year fixed term contract, Douglas Shire Council offers a competitive salary of up to $74,500 base.
