Our client, a employer of choice in the Illawarra has a rare opportunity available for a Permanent Part Time Payroll Officer to join their team.
Permanent part time (20-25 hours per week, with days/times hours to be negotiated with the successful candidate)
data to enable effective, timely reporting to assist decision makers.
In addition, the position is responsible for improving customer experience and streamlining business processes, as well as providing generalised support to the People and Culture Team.
Your new role
The Payroll Officer is responsible for the accurate and timely production of the fortnightly payroll for +- 400 staff & must be available every 2nd Tuesday which is payroll day and subsequent month end reporting requirements. HR data to enable effective, timely reporting to assist decision makers.
Improving customer experience and streamlining business processes, as well as providing generalised support to the People and Culture Team.
Ensure completion of the pay run cycle each fortnight including management of errors and exceptions from commencement to conclusion.
Provide timely and accurate responses to employees and managers on payroll
Administer the month end reporting and year end payroll processes.
Reconciliation of payroll records as required.
Manage and administer more complex payroll matters such as salary packaging benefits.
Ensure maintenance of employee data in all systems to ensure accuracy –
including but not limited to personal and contact information, payroll data,
deductions, leave balances, work history and reporting lines.
Complete external reporting as per legislative requirements.
What you'll need to succeed
Experience and Personal Qualities
Demonstrated experience managing payroll for a medium sized business.
Experience using a HRIS/HCM is preferred over an accounting software
Proven experience in managing workflows and improving business functions.
Excellent time management skills and the ability to work autonomously.
Ability to maintain high levels of quality and timeliness when working to
numerous non-negotiable and competing deadlines.
Ability to exercise sound judgement and initiative when faced with complex
Demonstrated ability to develop and contribute to continuous improvement
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to form solid
High level attention to detail and accuracy in work.
Well developed skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Prior experience using Oracle HCM and Ceridian Dayforce is desirable.
Ability to work flexible hours to meet the demands of the business if required
